About Ohio State Youth Convention

Youth Pastor/Leader,

We are so excited for Ohio State Youth Convention (OSYC) 2018! We hope you have started making plans to join us in Dayton, Ohio, November 9-11, 2018.
This year, Salem Church of God will host OSYC. Our theme is "Made for This". The idea is that each of us are created uniquely and beautifully and are designed for a specific purpose and calling. We hope students will leave OSYC knowing their God given identity and believing they matter because God says they matter! Breakout sessions will focus on the unique ways we find our passion and mission for the Kingdom of God. Speakers will share stories of their personal journey toward discovering and understanding who God created them to be. Our goal is that students will jump back into their schools, sports teams, marching bands, etc. with love and purpose, ready to serve others saying, "I was made for this!
This year's speaker at OSYC is Ketric Newell. Ketric's passion is to help students see their true identity and purpose in Christ. He burst into the world and onto the ministry scene with a vivacity that is God-given. In school Ketric’s teachers thought he had a hearing problem because he was so loud. It turned out that Ketric was just overloaded with energy and expression! He has learned to use that expression to share the love of Christ to young people across the nation. We cannot wait for our students to hear from this incredible speaker!
Leading us in worship this year will be North Point InsideOut. North Point InsideOut is a worship band from North Point Ministries in the greater Atlanta area. They lead worship for the weekly student InsideOut gathering with songs like "Death Was Arrested", "We Are Royals", and "He Is Jesus". We encourage you and your students to get to know their music prior to OSYC through their website, or YouTube.
On Friday, we will once again have a late-night activity. We have rented out the Huber Heights YMCA which includes gym space and hangout areas. There will be pizza, water, and a live DJ at no additional cost to your students.
We hope this packet answers the majority of your questions about this year's event. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to call Nathanael Lyon (937) 836-6500, or Missy Potts (937) 925-0766.
Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to stay up-to-date on OSYC information. Thank you for your trust in our team. We look forward to seeing all of you in November!
